  • 12 ounces lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground turkey (93% fat)
  • 28 ounces tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 16 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 small yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onions and minced garlic in olive oil until softened.
  4. Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with eggs; fold in most of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. In a greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture until all ingredients are used; top with remaining mozzarella.
  8. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes until bubbly; broil for an additional 5 minutes for a golden crust.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
