Ingredients
Scale
8 slices rye bread
2 cups cooked chicken or turkey, thinly sliced or shredded
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 ½ cups drained sauerkraut
1 cup Thousand Island or Russian dressing
2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
Cut the rye bread into cubes and arrange half at the bottom of the prepared dish.
Layer half of the chicken or turkey, half of the Swiss cheese, and half of the sauerkraut on top of the bread. Spread half of the dressing over these layers.
Repeat with remaining ingredients to create another layer.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
