  • 1 cup green onions (packed)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup potato starch (or cornstarch)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup very cold water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp green onion (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop green onions into 1.5-inch pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine chopped green onions with all other batter ingredients; mix gently until just combined.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Pour the green onion mixture into the pan, spreading evenly.
  5. Cook until golden brown on one side, about 3 minutes; flip and cook until both sides are crispy.
  6. Slice into wedges and serve with the dipping sauce made from soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chopped green onion.
