  • 3/4 cup rolled oats (quick oats)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. For the crust, beat together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in flour, cinnamon, and salt before transferring to the baking dish and pressing down firmly.
  3. Bake the crust for about 15 minutes until set.
  4. While the crust bakes, mix sliced apples with granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  5. For the streusel topping, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  6. After cooling slightly, layer the apple mixture over the crust and sprinkle with streusel; press lightly.
  7. Bake again for about 45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
